A Work of Love

I just have to share this with you!

My husband and I love working on joint projects.  I’m typically the brains and he’s the one who brings my idea to life… but don’t tell him that!

How many times have you seen something and said to yourself, “I can do that.”  That’s a common theme for me!  I saw a very cool decorated board at a little shop and thought “how in the world did they do that?!”  Well, I started looking around and found out how it’s done and I was  surprised at how easy it was!

My husband also thought it was pretty cool so we came up with a design for a table.

Below is a simple example of something you can make at home!

I had my hubby build a basic base. Nothing fancy or flashy.

Then we added the top. The two end boards have already been screwed in but the middle ones are still loose.

This is so I could work my magic on them!

We decided to add a layer of stain on the top and we planned on using chalk paint on the legs.

As usual, every project starts with a little Mod Podge.  This stuff is awesome!

With a layer of Mod Podge and a little tissue paper I was able to get the look I desired. I made multiple tables and designs as you can see below.

Once the Mod Podge dried all we had to do is sand it.

I love that you can see the wood underneath the tissue paper!

What a perfect table!  This is just one of eight that we made.  Each one unique and made with love.
