The Best Antique Store in Asheville, NC

pinterest, asheville

This was the second time we had been to Asheville, NC.  There’s so much to do there!  Asheville is a beautiful little city that holds so much charm and uniqueness.  If you go, you must visit the Biltmore. There’s no building like it in North Carolina.  When you drive upon it you feel like you’re suddenly in Europe.  The mansion that the Vanderbilt family built is still owned by them and when you go you will be able to see why they built this beautiful building in this spot. Spectacular!

OK, so the Biltmore isn’t the only reason to see Asheville.  Asheville has become a food mecca— attracting some of the most unique eats probably in North Carolina.  It’s all about the food! My husband and I just happened upon this food tour called “Eating Asheville.”  We had no clue what to expect.  On a cold day our tour guide brought us to 7 different restaurants to sample a taste of their food.  Each place was amazing and worth the bitter cold just to take a small taste of heaven.

There’s something else about Asheville that attracts visitors—it’s an abundance of antique stores!  The first time we traveled to Asheville my hubby and I visited many unique antique shops in downtown Asheville.  The second time we traveled to the city we had the chance to visit Asheville’s Tobacco Barn Antiques.

Holy Moly! The building is huge.  The selection is like nothing I’ve seen before. The variety of antiques ranged from farmhouse, funky boho, ethnic, rustic and one-of-a-kind items.  I found a whole booth with old farmhouse tools.

One area was just old doors.  I could not believe the variety of items.  Way more than your average antique store.  When we walked in, the first thing we saw was an old antique boat—like a real boat.   You can’t instantly tell how big the barn is… until you walk just a little bit more and then you see a building almost as big as a football field.

My favorite part of this antique store was the booth dedicated to old stained-glass windows.  I had never seen so many in one spot—and trust me I’ve looked. And the best part was that they were all reasonably priced.  Usually old stained-glass windows are priced very high.  I think those who sell them realize they’re hard to come by and a unique find.

I did not pass up the chance to pick one up! When we go back to Asheville I will make sure to visit again!

No matter what the reason is that you end up going to Asheville make sure to stop by Tobacco Barn Antiques.  When you do make sure to give yourself at least an hour or two to see everything.
